Michał Sobczyk is Country Manager, Poland at Capalo AI. He joined Capalo AI in May 2026, bringing over more than a decade of experience across energy regulation, policy and strategy in Central and Eastern Europe.
Prior to his role at Capalo AI, Michał served as Technology & Strategy Director at European Energy. Other previous roles include Head of Regulation & Markets at EDP Renewables and Head of Regulatory and Public Affairs for CEE at EIT InnoEnergy.
Michał’s public affairs and diplomatic background includes four years as Director of Low Carbon Technologies at the British Embassy in Warsaw, work as a Policy Coordinator for Poland at the European Commission, and a role in science diplomacy and innovation policy at Poland’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Earlier in his career, he worked as an energy consultant covering Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, and as an assistant to the Vice-Chair of the International Trade Committee at the European Parliament.
He is active in Poland’s renewable energy community as Vice President of the Polish Renewable Energy Association (Stowarzyszenie Energii Odnawialnej) and as a Member of the RES Council Presidium at Konfederacja Lewiatan. He also sits on the Board of Directors of the Polish Spanish Chamber of Commerce and is a Non-Resident Fellow at the Casimir Pulaski Foundation.
