Shannon O’Connell is the Co-Founder and CEO of Stora Energy, an independent developer of utility-scale battery energy storage projects in Poland. She brings nearly two decades of experience in renewable energy and energy storage across the US and European markets, including more than six years working in Poland.
At Stora, Shannon leads a team developing a portfolio of more than 1 GW of standalone BESS projects across Poland, alongside an M&A advisory business supporting investors and strategic buyers in sourcing and acquiring BESS projects in the Polish market. She leads the company’s project commercialization and strategic transactions, working with investors, utilities, IPPs and other energy-sector partners across project acquisitions, portfolio sales, co-development and financing.
Prior to founding Stora Energy, Shannon was a Director at NextEra Energy, one of the largest renewable energy developers in the United States, where she led a $100 million P&L. Her experience spans project development, engineering, construction, operations and commercial strategy. Today, she focuses on the development, financing and commercialization of grid-scale BESS in Poland, with particular expertise in grid access, project bankability and evolving storage revenue models.
