Piotr Biernacki, CFA is Chief Financial Officer at Sunly Polska, where he leads corporate finance, project finance and M&A. His work focuses on financing utility-scale solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and hybrid renewable energy projects, working closely with international lenders, institutional investors and strategic partners.
Piotr has nearly 20 years of experience in infrastructure and renewable energy finance. Before joining Sunly, he was Head of Project Finance at DNB Bank Polska, where he led the financing of renewable energy and infrastructure projects across Central and Eastern Europe.
Throughout his career, Piotr has been involved in the financing of numerous landmark renewable energy projects across Poland and the Baltic States, including the Risti Solar Park in Estonia, large-scale solar developments in Latvia, and utility-scale renewable energy projects throughout Poland. His experience spans both the banking and developer sides of the industry, providing a unique perspective on structuring bankable projects, attracting institutional capital and delivering complex renewable energy transactions.
A CFA Charterholder and graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH), Piotr is a frequent speaker on renewable energy finance, project finance, battery storage and investment strategies supporting the energy transition in Central and Eastern Europe.
