Stian Sviggum is Chief Operating Officer at Nord Pool, Europe’s leading power market, where he oversees market operations. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring the robust and secure operation of critical market infrastructure supporting electricity trading across Europe.
Before becoming COO in 2024, Stian served as Nord Pool’s Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Nord Pool, he held senior positions at Euronext Securities, PwC, Norges Bank Investment Management, Aon and Hewlett-Packard, building extensive experience across energy markets, financial market infrastructure, risk management and technology.
Holding an MSc in Theoretical Physics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Stian combines technical expertise with strategic and operational leadership. He is a strong advocate of robust market design, operational resilience and innovation, and works closely with the evolving challenges and opportunities facing European electricity markets.
