Tomasz Janiszewski serves as Chair of the BESS Economics and Financing Section at the Polish Energy Storage Association (PSME).
Concurrently, he is Chief Executive Officer across three Distribution System Operators (DSOs) – Watiffy Distribution, Stanergy Operator, and Gigapower. In this capacity, he leads the establishment of dedicated microgrids integrating onshore wind, solar PV, and large-scale BESS to power utility-scale offtakers, including hyperscale AI data centre campuses. He drives the structuring of multi-source financing strategies combining EU and domestic grants, subsidies, debt, and equity.
With over 20 years of experience across renewable energy, infrastructure, finance, and advisory services, Tomasz specialises in developing and financing large-scale renewable energy projects and BESS. He leads the development of a 3.6 GW BESS pipeline and played a pivotal role in delivering Poland’s first large-scale commercial BESS project (133 MW / 0.55 GWh) backed by a capacity market contract.
Previously, he served as Vice President and Member of the Management Board of Columbus Energy Trade Company and Head of Large-Scale Renewable Energy Investment Finance within the Columbus Energy Capital Group. He also held the position of Managing Director for Investment Finance at Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE – the Polish Transmission System Operator, TSO), overseeing infrastructure projects valued at PLN 42 billion. His background includes senior executive roles at GE Capital, Barclays, PwC, EY, and KPMG. A certified LEAN Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Tomasz is actively committed to driving Poland’s energy transition and sustainable market growth.
